RUFA Annual Report 2023-24

The RUFA Universe

To celebrate RUFA’s 25th anniversary, the 2023–24 Annual Report was developed through an unconventional collective process: a 48-hour creative marathon bringing together 50 selected students and faculty members from different departments. Working side by side throughout the weekend, participants contributed to the development of the publication, turning the report itself into a tangible expression of the community behind the Academy.

The visual concept of the report revolves around the idea of the “RUFA Universe”: a metaphorical space where the Academy’s different disciplines, departments, people and activities coexist and interact. Each infographic interprets a different aspect of this universe, using space and cosmic imagery to transform institutional information into a visual narrative and give a sense of the scale and diversity of the community.

My contribution focused on a double-page infographic mapping RUFA’s educational offer. The challenge was to organise a large amount of information into a clear and accessible structure while translating it into the shared visual language of the publication. The result combines information design with the cosmic metaphor, presenting the Academy’s educational landscape as a constellation of interconnected possibilities.

Beyond the final publication, the project became an experiment in collaboration, showing how different skills, perspectives and disciplines could come together within a highly time-constrained process. The collective production of the report made the anniversary not just something to be documented, but something actively created by the community itself.
